Stamford Italian Soccer League
Impact beyond the field
A match is ninety minutes. A community is the rest of the week.
While the Stamford Italian Soccer League celebrates Stamford's Italian heritage, its charitable and community impact reaches far beyond the field and benefits the wider community.
Through its partnership with TPFF, the league's gatherings do double duty. Sunday match days and the annual Columbus Day Tournament bring hundreds of neighbors into the same place, more than 250,000 local impressions a year, and that gathering power works for the whole city.
What that looks like
- Scholarships. League events benefit the SISL Annual Scholarship Fund for local student-athletes, alongside TPFF's youth grant program.
- Medical initiatives. Tournament proceeds also support the fund's health-related assistance work.
- Local business. Sponsorship puts hometown businesses in front of hometown crowds, season after season, and eligible businesses may benefit through the Neighborhood Assistance Act.
- Connection. With 180+ active players and three decades of Sundays, the league knits Stamford together. Connection is part of health, and it's the quietest kind of impact this work produces.
